Mechanical Design Engineer (PnP) x 2
Under the direction of an assigned lead or manager, works to develop new designs
and / or make improvements to existing products based on technical and cost
requirements from Product Manager

Responsible for assigned mechanical and sustaining engineering products/projects.
Tasks include: Functional requirement, conceptual design, technical analysis, failure
analysis, prototyping and simulation, test and evaluation, and report findings.
Provides Project Manager updates on ongoing tasks, including timelines, and
Follow engineering protocol including functional specifications / requirements, design
and prototype, functionality test, reliability test, field test, and transition to
manufacturing and/or field.
Research, select and test vendor products.
Ensure all generated and proven solutions are properly captured and released under
Support technical escalation from advanced manufacturing group.
Any other adhoc assignment according to business needs.
Bachelor of Science / Engineering in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering or
equivalent from an accredited college or university.
M.Sc. / M.Eng. degree is a plus.
Minimum of five years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or two years with a
Master’s degree in machine design.
Experience working in automation design with motorized system and mechanism
design with automation / pneumatics parts are strongly preferred.
Familiar with load analysis, automation parts selection (bearing, linear guide,
cylinder, etc.), design optimization, design for manufacturability, prototyping and
functional testing are essential.
Knowledge of good engineering practices and the ability to follow existing guidelines
Knowledge of complex equipment and machined part design, design of experiment,
involving multiple engineering disciplines (ME, EE, SW, etc.) a plus.
MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Familiarity with manufacturing knowledge such as machining, metal works, material
selection, surface coating, welding, heat treatment, thermal concerns, wear on
materials and aging.
Knowledge of mean time between failure (MTBF) and failure modes and effect
analysis (FMEA) a plus but not required.
Able to perform successfully in development, and sustaining engineering roles.
Proficiency with SolidWorks 2010 or higher and practical experience with engineering
documentation. SolidWorks Simulation knowledge is a plus.
Requires understanding of drafting and drafting standards including Geometric
Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME standard.
Solid data analysis and problem solving skills.
Must have the ability to effectively present findings and recommendations.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to self-motivate, work independently on projects and interface effectively with
other teams members. Must be effective working with others and contribute to
discussions and problem solving.
Proficiency with MS Office Products (PowerPoint and Excel) required.
